I have made a few small things. The cost and tools to start playing with nice cel cast acrylic has kept me away from DIYing it. I am currently haveing Bill make me a 60 gallon cube tank after seeing some of his work.
For general information there is a great thread on Reefcentral by 'acrylicman' who also sells on ebay. He's a real nice guy and the thread has a ton of good info for getting started working with acrylic. He also makes nice nano tanks a 18 gallon (I own one) and a 25 gallon flat back hex.
Bill - if you ever decide to make something like those I bet they'd be an easy sell - small tanks with sump/filter area in back and nice canopy (thought I ditched mine and doubled the lights over it)
