I added a couple of clowns yesterday for my Sebae anemone. Well, my Regal Tang is giving them both hell. They are hanging out together in the back under some cover. On top of that, they haven't figured out that the anemone is for them yet. Do I need to put the Regal in "time out"? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you have eggcrate (available at Lowes & HD) you can seperate part of your tank to keep the clowns safe.
The tang is just showing its dominance. It shouldn't last more than a couple days. As long as the clowns aren't getting torn to pieces yet you should be alright.
Keeping the tang well fed the next few days will also help him calm down as he won't be trying to protect his territory so vigorously.
And lastly.. it oftens takes a while to get clowns to host... especially if they're tank raised... just wait it out. 8)

I am concerned one of them is not going to make it. He was breathing pretty heavily last night. If he doesn't make it, how long do you suppose I have to add another one before the survivor establishes his territory?

depends on what type of clowns you bought. if they were ocellaris than chances on they're not going to take host in the sebae, there's always a chance though give it sometime since they're not a natural host. for the sebae anemones try a clarkii or sebae clown they'll take right to the anemone.

Tape a picture of a clown nestled up to an anemone to the side of the tank. I read in a thread somewhere that this helps, don't know if it was just a bunch of guys being silly or if clowns really are visual learners. Good Luck.

Bad news, both clowns didn't make it. They didn't survive the torment of the Regal tang. I need to get a Clarki, he should do fine since he would take cover in the anemone.
