I have ordered from this company with no problems in the past and they tend to have good prices on things. I had placed an order from them recently for 4 URI VHO actinic bulbs and finally got them in on Monday(late of course after UPS let them sit for a few days in California). Two of the four bulbs were black at one end like they were used. They were worse than the 7 month old bulbs they were to replace! A third bulb that looked alright failed immediately when tested and turned black at the end.

I have emailed Reeffanatic.com and am waiting to see how they rectify the problem. I will be sure to post what happens. Anyone else have this problem with orders on VHO bulbs?

Haven't ordered from them... but keep us updated on what happens.

The best way to determine the quality of a company is through their customer service...

Sorry for not posting this much earlier.

Bob from Reeffanatic replied to my email very quickly. They care a great deal about their reputation and repeatedly assured me their products come straight from the vendor to them and then to us, their customers. He informed me that URI is simply a private lable bulb company and does not actually make the VHO bulbs. URI sells great bulbs and apparently there is a bad batch which appears to be what I got. He volunteered to put me in touch with his rep at URI if I wanted and said that the black marks on the bulbs wouldn't be a problem. Even so, he had URI send me 3 new bulbs, two to replace the bulbs with black/smoke marks on the ends and 1 for the bulb that went out after turning it on.

Again, great customer service and good prices. I actually just placed another order from them for bulkheads and stuff for my 75.
