Kalkwasser

I have been told I could make an inexpensive Kalkwasser, can anyone give me a brief description of how to accomplish this project?

Stan, are you referring to a kalkwasser stirrer/injector or a replacement for the actual mix? If the mix you can use regualr old pickling lime (Ball's you can get at wal mart and some grocery stores) but it may not dissolve as clean but it is significantly cheaper. For a kalk reactor JimD on this board sells inexpensive ones and if you do a search on nilsen reactor (maybe nielsen? try searching for kalk reactor ) it will give you some idea on what they are all about.

Technoshamon, I have a 55 gal tank that has been set up with some live rock for about 4 years with fish and some live rock although have not had proper lighting till about 3 weeks ago when added coralife with 2 @ 65 watt 10,000K, I am need of a lot of help-info on all aspects, and all help is very appreciated, what method would you suggest I use to control calcium?

Hey Stan... I've been in the same "boat" the last month or so...

Look around the General Reefkeeping Forums for:

"What do you dose your tank with" or "Professional Opinion" or the big one "Pickling Lime from HEB"...

These were all good sources of info for me...
