Invert Staple Food...

Any suggestions for an invertibrate staple food???

I'm aware most snails and crabs will feed on algae in the tank. But if algae begins to become depleted, is there a good "all around" food? Is dried seaweed the best way to go???

Do algae levels ever get "too low"???
