Does anyone know how to get these things (prizm skimmer) started? I bought this one from Tim tonight and silly me cannot get it to work. The motor is going but the water won't go up the intake tube all the way. When my freshwater filter does that I just play with the intake tube. That doesn't seem to work in this case? HOW DO I GET IT TO WORK??????? :?

Thanks!

There's two nipples on the the skimmer. One nipple is for continual operation. The other nipple is for priming. When you first start to use the skimmer, you must prime it. To prime it, open the gate valve all the way WHILE holding the air venturi hose close to the priming nipple. After skimmer start the suction, connect it to the other nipple.

Now, if I don't break the thing before I break down and call Vihn....

Well, it needed patience (not my strong point tonight)! I got it working, thank you , Vihn.

Next question..... Why does the muck cup keep filling up with plain water immediately? It is taking less than a minute for the muck cup to completely fill up. I'm doing something else wrong, but what?????

>>Vinh is up all night (he's worse than me), give him a call.

The after-party was at my place, so it wasn't too late when you called.

This skimmer is sensitive, so dial it in slowly. After you dial it in, it should give you some good semi dry (mud) skimmate. Bak Pak skimmer are easier to dial, but I can't get good dry skimmate from it as much as the Prizm.

And yeah, sometime I go to bed at 7 to 8 in the morning.

Like Vihn said dial it in slowly. If you have too much water flow it will fill the cup and the floor with water. I usually open the flow valve just enough to bring the water to the bottom of the tube that comes up to the collection cup. Then just leave it alone and let it run. If Vihn hasn't answered all your questions you can also give me a call or PM and I'll help.

At the moment it seems to be running great! It is pulling out nasty smelling sludge, no more pure water. Thanks for the help, y'all!
