Hey gang, the last week or so I have been having problems with my lighting. The one 250 w PFO ballast I have is on a time and it is only 3 months old and there is a 3 week old 20000k radium on it. My problem is that somemornings the light will not come on at all and I have to mess around with it.. ie turn off the ballast, play with the timer stuff like that. Does anyone know what the problem could be??? It doesnt do it every morning but it is doing it enough to cause concern. thanks

sounds like there might be a loose connection in your ballast or it is not grounded very good.. what do you have it plugged in to

Are you using a three prong grounded timer? Can it carry the amps that the halide demands? If the halide can't pull the electricity it needs sometimes it will shut down I think. I have found if I overload the line the halides are plugged into I have had this problem. They are best put on a plug by themselves and on a different fuse than the rest of the tank. Some people will run designated circuits for halides.
