Hey guys... so what do you think about this? I'm covering the back of my canopy with eggcrate. It's about 5" high... and i'm going to attach a few fans to it.

Would I be better off cutting a nice sized hole in the eggcrate to slip the fans on, or do you think there won't be much of a difference?

Cutting the eggcrate and trimming the edges takes a lot of time with the tools i'm using... so I'm kinda leaning towards just attaching them in the back rather than cutting. Let me know what you think.

Here are some pics:

Chris, looks good . i would just attatch them directly to the back of the egg crate... careful about vibration though... you may need to put a rubber spacer in between the crate and the fan

Good idea... I think I have some spare rubber grommets from computer fans laying around somewhere.

I think tomorrow i'm going to start putting together the computer that's going to be controlling the lights and fans.

Cutting the light grate won't make much difference. I'd just attach the fans to it without any more modifications. Looks good.
