:shock: i have two WHITE crabs in my tank they are about the size of emerald crabs and look similar but are completely nocturnal... very cool looking just hope there not bad for the tank

Are they hiding out near any clams? I know there's a type that actually live in a commensal relationship with certain clams.

Any chance of a pic? :D

I've also got a small white crab with hairy legs that came with the LR I got from Tim, i've only seen it once though. Haven't found an ID on him yet... didn't get much of a look to begin with either. :?

I have a bunch of them. Typically they have been coming in on the Acropora, but I have also noted them on the rock shipments. I have not noticed any destructive behavior from them and I have been seeing them for over a year now. You have to really look to see them. I think they are probably beneficial. They don't seem to grow very large and don't knock corals down like the Large turbo and hermits do. They are also very simple to catch when they are near the top of your reef. They won't run far, just seem to clamp down on the rock and you can pluck them off or pull out the rock and remove it.
